.NET and C# have long since been the preferred platforms when it comes to software development in the Microsoft world. The Microsoft development ecosystem is quite vast, however, and riddled to an extent with many similar-sounding terms. This clearly laid out poster shows the correlations at a glance and defines the most important elements.
Programmed for Microsoft systems such as Windows or Azure, .NET is unavoidable for developers. However, the development ecosystem consists of a large number of components and is now open source in part. .NET Core is also available for Linux and Mac systems.
This large poster explains the different elements of the .NET platform, the framework components from 2005 to 2012, specifically looks at the elements of .NET Core and also presents a number of software tools for development with .NET.
For those who have not yet had much exposure to .NET, the poster offers an excellent overview of the structure and the individual components of Microsoft’s development platform. You can order the poster free of charge here in DIN A0 format.
