New tools do not always have to be used in order to support the test process. bbv showed a Swiss insurance company that existing tools can also be optimised to deliver the best possible benefits and reduce costs at the same time.
A Swiss insurance company was seeking a way to integrate a new solution into the existing IT system landscape, with the aim of minimising the outlay for manual testing. bbv was engaged to successively automate the existing processes and the provision of test data.
The existing test framework proved to be unsuitable following initial analysis. bbv therefore developed a new framework, which could be used straight away and incorporates the existing tools. This saves licensing and training costs. The new framework was then extended for other systems too, with the result that several thousand test cases could be automated.
